History

The Fjord brand originated in Norway, where coveted cruising motor boats had been built since the 1950s. In 2007, Hanse Yachts AG took the helm and embarked on a new direction: To create the avant-garde of pleasure boats.

The first of the new breed of yachts, the Fjord 40 Open, set clear standards in the 40 ft class. Clear, angular and powerful this was the modern style the industry  had been waiting for. At its premiere at the "Boot" Show in Düsseldorf, the Fjord Open 40 was named "European Powerboat of the Year 2008".

Future

Since the triumph of the Fjord 40 Open, the world has known what to expect from Fjord: Challenging styling with a powerful visual impact and intelligent comfort with an eye for the practical detailing so often forgotten on the inside.

High speed and spectacular design are in the DNA of every Fjord Motor Yacht.

In Patrick Banfield, the Fjord Chief Designer, there are some of the most cutting-edge styling and performance ideas avaliable to any boat builder.  In Greifswald on the Baltic Sea, the plans are then turned into reality: The Hanse Group uses all its experience as one of the most modern European yacht shipyards in this process.

With a number of new models in the pipeline, the Fjord brand is becoming the epitome of luxury and performance.
