The Fjord Story

The Fjord Story

The spark of inspiration

The Fjord brand originated in Norway, where coveted cruising motor boats had been built since the 1950s. The boats were held in great esteem as seaworthy and well-constructed. In 2007, Hanse Yachts AG took the helm and embarked on a new direction: to create the avant-garde of pleasure boats without losing the core Fjord DNA.

The first of the new breed of yachts, the Fjord 40 Open turned the 40 ft class upside down. Clear, angular and powerful this was the modern style the industry had not seen before, offering space, comfort and a level of practicality not seen on production boats before. At its premiere at the 'Boot' Show in Düsseldorf, the Fjord Open 40 was named 'European Powerboat of the Year 2008'.
